Default Guild Wars Wiki information confliction?

ok i was checking out wintersday in july 2010. On the very bottom on the notes section it said "Candy Cane Shards do not drop from monsters."
But then, when I looked @ the acctual link of candy cnae shards, it said its aqquisition WAS from monsters?

As this will be the first wintersday in july ill acctually not be on vacation or out of town, im not sure which info i should believe? just seems kinda misleading. Or that one of the sources has been messed w/(but im not sure which one). Ty in advance for your answers

ok just looked and it said they only drop during wintersday. Does this mean you can ONLY get them from Snowball Arena?

Remember wiki is not always right.....(still says clockwork scythes can be obtained in Rragar's b/c of 1 person)....anyhow I'm pretty sure they drop from monsters. The only issue here is that the drops of them are so few and far between, it's not worth farming monsters to get cc shards. Questing is a vastly superior way of obtaining them.

Tobi is talking about Wintersday in July, not normal Wintersday. During Wintersday in July you can only get Candy Cane Shards from Snowball Arena, and from Wintersday Gifts. During the normal Wintersday event they do drop from monsters, and can be recieved as quest rewards, as well as from Snowball Arena, and Wintersday Gifts.

I do love on the unofficial wiki the admins don't smile upon users who post up actual helpful advice. I tried to post up info to the Battle of Lion's Arch page (yes I took the info from the official wiki so sue me) because all there was, was someones 3 lines description of it. I posted to have 2 mins later the previous users take it down and post his 3 lines summary up again. This went back and forth for an hour to my surprise having my account banned for posting "illegal" content. I emailed the admin who banned me asking why in the hell was I banned for posting helpful advice next to someone just posting "I did this with my monk, it was easy, expect to have 90 drops."

I believe we're talking about the Official Wiki, as well about Wintersday in July and Candy Cane Shards.

High Five. Just adding my 2 cents on something. Not every post will follow 100% what the original user posted.

Smith, it's very possible the unofficial wiki isn't allowed to take content from the official one (hence "illegal" content). I wouldn't know, I never use it and I don't see the purpose anymore.

It's no problem mate. Been standing around Lions Arch AD1 since about an hour before Wintersday in July started, explaining to people why the decorations aren't up yet, and why they aren't getting Candy Cane Shards from monsters.
